BUTNER, N.C. (WNCN) – A man was found unresponsive after a perceived altercation with another individual at the Federal Correctional Institution Butner Medium II on Thursday.
According to the correctional institution, at around 4 p.m., Glenn McDougald, 57, was unresponsive, and EMS was called while employees continued giving life-saving measures. McDougal was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
McDougal was sentenced in the eastern district of North Carolina to a 27-year sentence for possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the institution.
McDougal had been at the FCI in Butner since Dec. 14, 2023.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified.
