Federal prison in Manitoba locked down after three inmates assaulted

WINNIPEG — A federal prison north of Winnipeg has been locked down after three inmates were assaulted.
The Correctional Service of Canada says the inmates were attacked on Thursday night at Stony Mountain Institution.
The inmates from the medium security wing are being treated in hospital.
Prison officials did not disclose what happened, the condition of the inmates or the nature of their injuries.
The lockdown includes a search of the medium and maximum security units which is expected to last a few days.
