Arrest affidavits for a West Ashley teenager charged in connection to a Sunday double homicide show the boy shot one of the victims in response to that victim shooting another boy.

Zamere Brown, 17, was arrested Wednesday by Charleston Police, and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Police said Thursday during a bond hearing that Brown shot and killed 15-year-old Talekuz Williams after Williams shot and killed 17-year-old Juquel Young.

The incident was recorded on surveillance video by a camera outside the Ashley Oaks Apartments, according to police affidavits.

Surveillance video shows Williams shoot Young as a group of teens stood on a basketball court outside the apartments, according to police.

Brown, identified by a witness, is then seen chasing Williams down, shooting him in the back, then shooting him in the chest, according to police.

Both Williams and Young died at the scene, officials say.

A magistrate set Brown's bond on the weapon charge at $100,000, but could not set bond on the murder charge. Brown will remain in jail at the Charleston County Detention Center, and will face a circuit judge for an additional bond hearing within 30 days.
