Cape Town - So far this 2018 Soccer World Cup we've seen: A Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick against Spain on the same day the Spanish government announced details on his tax fraud case - A Leo Messi penalty miss against a film director; a dentist drawing against Argentina and the defending champions Germany losing their first game.
Here are some incredible moments so far from Russia 2018:
Cristiano Ronaldo put in a display that will go down as one of the great World Cup performances after scoring a hat-trick against Spain in an absorbing 3-3 draw. This group Group B opener became an instant classic as Ronaldo scored an 82nd minute free-kick to grab a share of the spoils. What made this more amazing is it came on the day the Spanish government decided to announce that Ronaldo had accepted a suspended two-year prison sentence for tax fraud.
World Cup is serious! Spain announcing Ronaldo’s 2 year sentence the morning of the game is hysterical.

Iceland with a population of 335 000 caused one of the early upsets of the tournament when they held Argentina to a 1-1 draw. After goalkeeper Hannes Halldorsson denied Lionel Messi from the penalty spot. Halldorsson - a part-time footballer - is also a film director who has directed a number of TV commercials including his country's World Cup commercial for Coca Cola.

Icelandic head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson meanwhile who masterminded his side's 1-1 draw against Argentina that saw his team neutralize their superstar opponents led by Leo Messi is the country's most famous dentist. Hallgrimsson is a full-time dentist who had to request time off from his day job in order to travel to Russia for the World Cup.
Iceland manager Heimir Hallgrímsson is a part time dentist. He had to ask for time off work to go to Russia. This man and his players deserve every bit of success they get.
