The Iowa Department of Corrections has ordered the Warren County Jail to close its doors by Feb. 2 after a multitude of issues that include mold, inmates escaping, a major bed shortage and security problems.The troubled jail failed another yearly inspection, so the DOC ordered the facility to stop taking in more prisoners. Officials said the jail failed to fix several ongoing violations earlier this month, including cleanliness, sanitation and housing conditions. They also cited numerous problems dating back to 2010 that led to the decision. It is unclear how many inmates are currently housed at the jail.
