Nevada Sex Offender Wont Register, Face More Than 12 years in Prison

The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office has secured a guilty verdict in a case against a registered sex offender who failed to register. The defendant faces up to 5 years in prison as a result of the conviction and sentencing is set for July
24th. Armando Jauregui of Reno was found guilty after a three day trial. Jauregui was convicted in 2001 of Attempted Sexual Assault and sentenced to a maximum of over 12 ½ years in prison, as well as subject to lifetime supervision as a sex offender. Jauregui was released on parole in 2008, and since that time has been charged and convicted of sex offender registry violations on multiple occasions.
