Florence man arrested after domestic violence incident, assaulting officer
FLORENCE, Ala. (WAFF) - A Florence man was arrested on Saturday morning following a domestic violence-related incident and assaulting an officer.
According to the Florence Police Department, officers were dispatched to a home on South Orleans Street around 2:30 a.m. Police said when they arrived, James Limon was outside of the residence allegedly screaming and causing a disturbance.
While Limon was taken into custody, he resisted officers. One officer was reportedly struck in the face and bit on their arm by Limon, breaking the officer’s skin.
Limon was arrested and charged with Assault in the Second Degree, Domestic Violence in the Third Degree, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.
He was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center with an $8,000 bond.
Police said the injured officer was taken to North Alabama Medical Center, where he received treatment and was released.
