Update: Driver killed after crashing into Maysville home, causing fire

UPDATE: 7:30 P.M. - The driver of the vehicle involved in the December 12, 2017 deadly accident and house fire in Maysville, Iowa is Kelly Phillip Dewulf. The 58-year-old man was from Wheatland, Iowa.

Officials with the Scott County Sheriff's Office also say the vehicle Dewulf was driving was a 2013 Ferrari Spider. The accident remains under investigation.

UPDATE 5:15 A.M.: The Scott County Sheriff's Office confirms the driver of the car that crashed into a Maysville home at 11 Tuesday night was killed.

First responders say it appears the driver missed a curve and crashed into the home, causing an explosion and subsequent fire.

The homeowner is okay and got out of the house safely.

PREVIOUS UPDATE: Officials say the received a call of an explosion at a house located on 235th Street and Maysville Road around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

They believe a car went off the road and struck the house.

The driver's identity and condition is unknown at this time.

The owner was home at the time, and was able to get out safely.

Maysville Fire Department, Donahue Fire Department, Eldridge Fire Department, Scott County Sheriff's Office and Scott County Sheriff's Reserves were on scene.

The scene is still under investigation.
